GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - A local company called Chow Down in Grand Junction hosted some friendly, four legged guests today.
Apart from the usual crowd at the pet supplies store, For the Howl of it Animal Rescue brought eight dogs looking for their forever homes. For the Howl of it is a Grand Junction based group that takes in neglected, abused, or abandoned dogs often from high-kill shelters in surrounding states. Even if you’re not ready to take home a new best friend permanently, For the Howl of it says they’re always looking for foster families.
“My favorite part about adoptions events like this is just basically getting our message out there to the community so that they can see what we’re doing. I love seeing kids’ reactions to the animals because they can grow up to start a brighter future,” says Ally Mitchell, Treasurer of For the Howl of it.
This morning, the organization said they had already had one dog adopted earlier. Piper was picked up today for service dog training.
