LOMA, Colo. (KJCT) - A Loma nonprofit celebrated the ribbon cutting of a new facility today.
Harmony Acres is an equestrian center focused on the therapeutic qualities of animals. They take in animals that have often been neglected or surrendered and pair them with children and adults that have been traumatized or abused. This new facility is the product of grants and donations from the community.
“This way we’ll have other activities going on in the arena here, and then we can have our therapeutic sessions going on in this building as well. You’ve got the therapist, the client, and the horse. You’re all working together, again, for the mutual benefit of healing for each other,” JJ Fletcher, member of the Board of Directors for Harmony Acres.
Each year, Harmony Acres provides therapy for over 100 people including veterans and children with special needs.
