GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)- Ryan Hargett, a 31-year-old male resident of Grand Junction, Colorado, was killed after a pickup truck versus motorcycle accident.

It happened near 4th and Ute in Grand Junction at about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Originally, the Grand Junction Police Department was dispatched to the 300 Block of South 1st Street, where a motorcycle traveling eastbound had crashed into a concrete barrier.

While en route to the crash, officers encountered a separate motorcycle crash near the intersection of 4th Street and Ute Avenue, where a subject at the scene was performing CPR on an adult male. Officers took over CPR; unfortunately, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that several motorcycles were traveling southbound on 1st Street when one of the riders collided with a concrete barrier, which was the first dispatched call. The other riders who were traveling with the crashed motorcyclist were attempting to return to the scene by turning northbound onto 5th Street, and then westbound on Ute Avenue. Witnesses say that one of the motorcyclists ran the red light at 4th Street and collided with a truck.

This is preliminary information and is subject to change.

The driver of the first crash was not seriously injured.
