GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)- Nine people have been arrested, eight of which were in Grand Junction, after a month's long investigation led by the Western Colorado Drug Task Force.
“Although these arrests are an important step, the work is far from over," says District Attorney Dan Rubinstein. “As the investigation continues to unfold, additional arrests and charges are anticipated.”
The Western Colorado Drug Task Force (WCDTF) is comprised of detectives from both the Mesa County Sheriff's Office along with the Grand Junction Police Department. In this operation, WCDTF worked closely with the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Front Range Task Force, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and the 21st Judicial District Attorney's Office.
On Tuesday, five search warrants were executed, four of which were local, while the other took place across the mountain in Denver.
Detectives found a significant amount of drugs, money, and drug paraphernalia. Detectives used wiretaps in the operation.
All documents related to this investigation have been sealed by the court.
