GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT)- Saturday morning authorities responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 23 Road and H Road. A 19-year-old female was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The female was the passenger of a cream-colored Honda going eastbound on H Road when they were struck by a black Hyundai SUV traveling northbound on 23 Road. The occupants of the SUV were an adult male and a child, who were both treated on the scene for their injuries. They were not taken to the hospital. The driver of the cream-colored Honda was a male who was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
A dog was also in the cream-colored Honda and was treated at the scene.
Grand Junction Fire Department, Grand Junction Police, and Colorado State Patrol responded to the accident. The accident is under investigation, and the intersection remains closed.
