GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - Ruff Around the Edges held their Second Annual Bark in the Park today.
The free event was held at Lincoln Park from ten to four and had music, contests, and a variety of vendors. The mission of Bark in the Park was to get dogs into homes through adoption before the cold weather hits. This event is also aimed at keeping dogs *in homes-- Ruff Around the Edges says improper socialization is the main reason they see for people abandoning their dogs.
"I've been in situations in life where I need rescue. I understand these dogs, and I want them to go through the same process like I did. The community has kind of rescued me and I want that for the dogs. It's important, they want their homes," says organizer Lance Ferguson.
Last year, eleven dogs found their forever homes at the event; Lance is hoping to beat those numbers this year.
