Sierra Ferguson is a high desert girl at heart, originally from Flagstaff, Arizona, where the snow flies on the San Fransico Peaks. A graduate of Northern Arizona University, she discovered broadcast journalism at “NAZToday,” the student-run live broadcast in Coconino County.
A passionate storyteller, Sierra loves meeting new people and trying new things. Wanderlust and a love for traditional Irish music took her to the University of Limerick, where she took journalism, fiddle and Irish drum classes.
She moved from the Emerald Isle to the Sunshine State, where she produced newscasts in Tallahassee, Florida. In Florida’s capital city she worked on the “Sunrise” morning show as producer and reporter.
From the warm gulf to the enormous redwood trees of northern California, Sierra would move again to Eureka, California. There she worked as an anchor, producer, and reporter.
A bit of a foodie and classic film buff, Sierra enjoys reading, hiking, horseback riding, drinking coffee, playing music (fiddle, banjo and bodhran), and petting any dog that will let her.
Sierra joined the KKCO/KJCT team in February of 2019. She’s excited to live in Colorful Colorado and would love to hear your story ideas (and restaurant recommendations)!
