Jessica Lebel joined the news team in June 2015 and is thrilled to be forecasting for her home state of Colorado.
Jessica grew up in Littleton, Colorado and experienced a wide variety of weather there that sparked her interest in becoming a meteorologist. She learned to love the outdoors and appreciate everything that Colorado has to offer.
Prior to moving to the Western Slope, Jessica attended the University of Kansas and received a B.S. in Atmospheric Science with an emphasis in News Media Forecasting. While in school, Jessica worked as the weekend meteorologist at the local television station WOW6 News and was a meteorologist for her school television station KUJH. While living in Tornado Alley, Jessica fell in love with forecasting severe weather and chased her first tornado on April 8, 2015 just outside of Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
On her days off, you can catch Jessica hiking, skiing, watching soccer and KU Jayhawks Basketball (Rockchalk!), and catching up on the latest fashion trends. Please send her any cool weather pictures you take on the Western Slope. She'd love to see them!
