GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - The Veterans Affairs of Western Colorado Health Care System held an outreach event Wednesday at the Western Slope Vietnam Memorial Park in Fruita.

The goal was to connect Grand Valley veterans with programs and services available to them. According to the VA, veterans should continue to check what services they are eligible for. With certain changes to policies and personal circumstances, veterans may find they have more health care options. The VA detailed how they are eager to provide veterans with health care services and continue to support them.

According to VA Outreach Coordinator Vickie Becoat, ”The VA is for all veterans. Regardless of the number of years you served, if you are eligible for health care, we want to provide you with health care and connect you to any services.”

The event was held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It provided veterans with the opportunity to connect with VA staff and navigate the healthcare process. Veterans can also reach out to VA staff during the work week.
