Widespread power outages near 25 and Patterson

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - Just over 3,000 Xcel customers were out of power Monday morning after a car ran into a power pole off of 26 Road and Patterson.

The Grand Junction Police Department says the outages were from 1st Street and Patterson to 27 1/2 Road and Patterson.

UPDATE: 10:52 a.m.: One Eastbound lane is back open. Xcel Energy is expected to be on scene well into the afternoon....

The outages happened just after 9:00 a.m. Most customers have had their power restored since, however, 23 customers will be without power until the pole is replaced.

Crews are currently in the area working to restore to replace the pole.
