Amy joined the KJCT News Team in August and is ecstatic to have the chance to embark on her career as a reporter, a job she's known she's wanted since she was ten years old.
She graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in May 2013. She majored in broadcast journalism and international relations and minored in Spanish. Amy graduated with Renee Crown University Honors and completed her Capstone project with a series of long-form investigative pieces, one of her journalistic passions.
While at Syracuse, Amy gained experience in the newsroom as a member of the oldest student-run television news station in the country, CitrusTV. She also interned at WBNG in Binghamton, NY and WFMZ 69 News in Allentown, PA. Her most memorable summer of college was spent in the nation's capitol learning the art of investigative journalism at the Public Education Center.
Amy's first passion was for dance, which she has done for various studios and teams since she was six years old. She is also a snowboarder and is happy to bid farewell to the icy slopes of the Northeast and say hello to the fresh powder of the Colorado Rockies. Amy caught the travel bug two years ago and has since been to 12 countries on four continents including Madrid, Spain where she spent a semester honing her Spanish skills. However, Amy thinks the Western Slope is one of the prettiest places she has ever lived and she's ready to explore!
