GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The JUCO World Series excitement lives on through the 2013 MLB Draft.
Florida's best junior college pitcher JD Underwood was the first to go out of this year's JUCO World Series group. The right-handed pitcher was selected by the LA Dodgers in the fifth round at No. 154 overall. During the regular season, Underwood went 8-2 with a 1.66 ERA and 96 Ks through 92.1 innings.
Nick Gardewine out of Kaskaskia Community College in Illinois was selected at No. 220 overall in the seventh round by the Texas Rangers. Gardewine, a right-handed pitcher, was a freshman last season. He entered the World Series with 79 Ks in 81 innings pitched with a 1.67 ERA.
