GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Friday the Colorado Rockies added eight more players in the 2014 MLB Draft, and JUCO World Series standout Wes Rogers made the cut.

The junior college sophomore played center field for the Spartanburg Methodist Pioneers. He was batting .636 during the World Series and plans on signing right away.

" You hear a lot of talk prior to the draft, but you never actually know where you're going to go," said Rogers. "I was just sitting by my phone all day, just waiting, and I finally got that call and I was just so excited."

All in all the Rockies selected eight players Friday, including local Regis Jesuit shortstop Max George.
