GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Grand Junction continues to put out solid athletes each year. On Thursday, Elisha Jahnke, Morgan Zanski, and Aleah Quast signed their National Letters of Intent to pursue an athletic career at the collegiate level.

Senior softball pitcher Elisha Jahnke will bring her game to Salt Lake Community College. This past season, she finished as the SWL player of the year - helping her team reach a 2nd place finish at regionals and a spot in the state tournament.

She finished her high school career on a high note, putting out a 2.81 ERA, but pitching wasn't her only forte. At the plate she added 70 RBI and 33 extra base hits, including 7 home runs.

Jahnke has all the talent and determination to succeed, and this is just one more step in that direction.

"It's exciting moving to the next level, harder competition, but it's going to be really sad because I've been playing with a lot of my teammates since I was ten. So it's sad, but I'm excited and ready to move on," said Jahnke.

The one who does all the catching behind the plate and Elisha's partner in crime Morgan Zanski signed her National Letter of Intent with Adams State University.

Zanski may be small, but she has quite an arm and a great eye. Through three seasons she's notched a .929 fielding percentage, and on offense she's put out 47 RBI and 4 homers. Now she's looking forward to a new experience.

"It's a little bit nerve-wrecking of course but I'm just really proud that I stuck it out and it's nice to see that hard work can pay off," said Zanski.

Volleyball's Aleah Quast signer her National Letter of Intent with the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

As a senior, Aleah tallied 355 digs and 32 kills, helping the Grand Junction Tigers to a regional berth and one of their best records in the past decade, and she's ready to take her game up a notch.

"I am incredibly excited" said Quast. "It's always been a dream of mine, it's always been a goal, and I'm just super happy I got to fulfill this."
