GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Krystle and Zach have game highlights from the week of play with Orem and Missoula, along with a mic'd up segment with Hamlet Marte, and more.
Javier Palacios made his sixth start of the season, but he was still searching for his first win.
The Rockies got on the board first thanks to some sloppiness of the Osprey. Wilson Soriano stole second base, and the throw from the plate went into the outfield, allowing Nate Causey to score and make it 1-0.
Missoula countered in the top of the third with a two-run homer from Yosbel Gutierrez that gave them the 2-1 lead.
Dom Nunez tied it up with an RBI groundout to shortstop in the bottom half of the inning, but the real hit came from one of the other veterans, Terry McClure. With the bases loaded and two outs, he roped a double off the wall in left center that cleared the bags and gave his team the 5-2 lead.
Again, the Osprey countered via the long-ball. In the top of the fourth, Dan McFarland cranked the Palacios offering over the wall in left to cut the lead to just a run.
Yonathan Daza hit a solo shot in the fifth, but Missoula canceled that out with a run in the sixth.
It was 6-5 Rockies entering the eighth inning, and they were able to add a couple insurance runs to stretch the lead to 8-5.
Alec Crawford came on in the ninth for the save, and even though he allowed runners to reach first and second with no outs, he worked his way out of the jam and kept the Osprey off the board in the final inning.
The Rockies go on to win 8-5 and improve to 14-11 on the season.
