GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Thursday night CMU's wrestling team hosts Bethany College for their home dual opener.

The Mavericks have been working through their preseason schedule with some great success. Overall, they're 2-1 with wins coming over Western Wyoming and Northwest.

Most recently they found themselves opposite Division I's Northern Colorado, falling 30-22.

Thursday evening will be the Mavs' final chance to get in competition on the mats before the New Year and they're ready to go all out.

"I'm excited to start getting the duals going," said senior Chester Granard. "The fun part of the year is coming so I'm just looking forward to the rest of the season."

"[Bethany is] a ranked NAIA program, so we can't definitely underestimate them," said head coach Chuck Pipher, "but I think they've worked hard this fall, and they're looking forward to a good home dual and before we end Christmas and move on into the New Year here in about a week and a half."

The duals take place at Brownson Arena at 7:00 PM.
