GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Lady Mavericks aren't the only ones on a hot streak. The men's team has put out four consecutive wins, bumping them up in the conference standings. This weekend could easily be their biggest test of all.

They'll take on Colorado Christian, followed by Colorado School of Mines - a team holding onto a 5-0 record in the RMAC.

Each day the Mavs feel more confident with the direction they're heading under first year head coach Andy Shantz, and they feel this is their year to take it to the top. The guys are gelling, their overall performance is leading to wins, and they're ready to go out this weekend and show they're one of the best.

"Definitely want to give [Mines a loss]," said sophomore Joe Kiely. "[We] want to hit them hard, to let them know and let everybody else know in the conference that we're one of the strong teams in the conference."

"We are on a good streak. We're 7-3 now, 5-1 in conference," said junior Landon Vermeer. "You never want to split, you hope to win both obviously, but I think this could be a really big step in the right direction for us as we go towards our goal of conference championship and those things."

The men start off the weekend with a game Friday night against Colorado Christian at 7:30 PM.
