CMU BB: Colorado Mesa starts homestand with a win over Adams State

By  |

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Colorado Mesa was back at Suplizio Field for the start of a four game homestand against Adams State University.

Though the Grizzlies were first to score, Mesa would keep them quiet the majority of the game thanks in large part to Matt Delay who put up six strikeouts and allowed three hits and two runs.

The Mavs went all in for the middle three innings, scoring 9 runs en route to an 11-3 victory. While the team tallied up 8 steals, Sergio Valenzuela led the way with two runs and three RBI.

The two play again in a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1:00.
