SALT LAKE CITY, Utah Officials say a wildfire threatening homes in the Tooele County town of Stockton has swelled to well over 100 acres.
Crews are evacuating houses there as strong winds propel the blaze near the town of 600 about 45 minutes southwest of Salt Lake City.
Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands spokesman Jason Curry says he doesn't know if any flames have reached homes.
He says more fire engines and helicopters are on the way to protect nearby buildings.
Stockton Mayor Mark Whitney tells KSL-TV the fire has destroyed some sheds but no homes.
Officials do not yet know what cause the fire to break out Wednesday afternoon.
Curry had no other details.
The National Weather Service reports winds in the area were reaching 18 miles per hour Wednesday.
