CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) -- A 28-year-old carjacking suspect accused of leading authorities in Colorado on a 75-mile rush-hour chase from Longmont to Lone Tree is facing 26 charges.
The Denver Post reports Ryan Stone was charged Wednesday with attempted murder, kidnapping and numerous other counts.
Stone is accused of stealing a vehicle with a 4-year-old boy in the backseat on March 12 and then carjacking two other vehicles while a news helicopter tracked him. The boy was not hurt, but authorities say Stone hit and seriously injured a state trooper deploying stop sticks. Stone was arrested when he tried to run and slipped on ice.
Stone is due back in court on May 29. He's being held on a $3.5 million bond.
