Grand Junction Best Buy sees less returns than usual

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Before Christmas, the check-out line weaves through stores, and after, it's usually the customer service line as people return or exchange unwanted presents, but not this year for Grand Junction's Best Buy.

Helping customers pick out the right item from the start is the key to avoiding returns, said Jason Leist, the store's general manager.

"We did it right," he said. "We got people connected with the right gifts, the right size, and the right format for whatever they were looking for because we didn't see quite as many returns exchanges as we did in the past."

The store did not have the same rush of returns coming in after the holidays as last year.

"We had extra staff," Leist said. "We had a queue process, but really it wasn't needed this year."
