DENVER (AP) -- Firefighters have controlled a large wind-whipped brush fire near Quincy Reservoir southeast of Denver.
Aurora Fire Department spokesman Sgt. Dana Hatfield tells The Denver Post the fire was reported Saturday, but he did not know how big it was. The blaze, which was controlled by 3 p.m., did not cause any injuries or prompt any evacuations.
A "red flag" fire danger warning was in effect in the area until Saturday night, and high winds are expected ahead of a cold front. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph.
