Primary elections ballots are in the mail

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The primary ballots have been mailed and now it's up to you to cast your vote this election season.

They're given a week to mail out all the ballots, but the Mesa County Clerk and Recorders Office sent out all 52 thousand ballots today to give voters a few extra days to make their choices.

Mesa County voters have until June 24th at 7 P.M. to get their ballots in the system, and there's a variety of ways, in person or electronically, to ensure your voice is heard.

“If someone doesn't get a ballot in the mail by Monday, they should give us a call, specifically if they've changed their address very recently, their ballot may be coming back to us and we need to issue them a second one,” says Catherine Lenhart, the Mesa County Elections Director.

Mesa County generally produces about a 50% response rate from its constituents during the primary election period.

There is only one contest within the Republican Party in this year's elections.

Both the Democratic and American Constitution candidates are running unopposed.
