GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Marillac Clinic gave children the gift of brighter and healthier smiles Thursday.
50 children were scheduled for free dental exams for this year's annual Give Kids a Smile Day.
"Taking care of your teeth, developing good habits, coming in for regular check ups and taking care of anything that does come up is just very important for your overall dental health," said Kristy Schmidt, of Marillac Clinic.
The event offers low income and uninsured children the opportunity to have their teeth cleaned, get x-rays and learn about dental health at no cost.
After the check up, each child received a free new toothbrush, toothpaste and floss to keep up the healthy habits at home.
