GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. All of those ugly sweater Christmas parties this weekend have thrift shops happy with recent sales.

"People specifically come here for ugly sweaters because they're kind of harder to find in like the mall and stuff, so they benefit from it and then we benefit from it," said Sara Ellison, an employee of Fashion Junkie.

Fashion Junkie buys, sells and trades clothing and at this time of year, the most loyal customers are those looking to dress up for holiday parties.

"We're constantly getting them in and we're constantly selling them, so we're always out because they were selling so well," Ellison said.

While the bitter cold and snow had foot traffic down at the beginning of the month, Fashion Junkie has been seeing more business as Christmas gets closer and the parties pick up.
