Fruita, Colo. -- The 18 Hours of Fruita Mountain Bike Race is back for the tenth annual time. Racers from all across the country began their trek at midnight, Saturday, May 3.
The team or rider who completes the most laps and scores the best time after riding non-stop for 18 hours around Highline and Mack Mesa lakes will take home the prize.
This race has gotten very popular over the years, attracting riders from across the country and the word to Highline Lake State Park.
Just as a reminder, the east side of the park will be closed from 6 p.m. on Friday, May 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. Around 100 racers are expected to camp there.
A valid, $7 daily park pass or $70 annual pass is required on each vehicle before entering the park.
