GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. For fans who enjoyed last year's fireworks after Grand Junction Rockies games, this year you will be able to enjoy them all over again.
Wednesday night City Council unanimously voted to approve the Rockies request to have fireworks after five games this season.
The General Manager of the Grand Junction Rockies, Tim Ray, says nearly 85% of fans attending the minor league games are there for the social reasons alone, making it a great opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere.
"It's all about the game day experience and what we've found in the past is that our fans truly love fireworks," said Ray.
The dates of the five games, scheduled on Friday evenings, that will have firework displays are June 20th, July 4th, July 11th, July 25th and August 1st. A back up date is set for August 5th. Grand Junction Parks and Rec will monitor the drought condition and reschedule any firework displays if necessary.
