RIFLE, Colo. For many kids, school can sometimes be just a little bit boring, but one elementary school is taking their students out of the classroom to spice up their learning.
Thursday night, Graham Mesa Elementary School students in Rifle attended the second annual math night, and got a first-hand look at the real-life application of their studies.
"They have the math in their hands and they have to go find it and search it out," says Principal Heather Grumley. "The excitement actually to see that math really is alive."
During their activities, students made their way around the store, all-the-while reinforcing what they were learning in the classroom.
They completed tasks like weighing, estimating, and even some taste testing.
