GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. A snow-filled winter has grand valley experts and water recreation owners keeping a close watch on water levels in creeks and rivers...
While the heavy snowfall does not guarantee flooding, it could mean some excellent conditions for white water rafting in the Colorado River basin.
"The flows of water that are coming at us this year are above normal, they are slightly above normal, and we've had years that are much bigger, but this is exciting white water that is going to come at us this year," says Tom Kleinschnitz, owner of Adventure Bound River Conditions.
Even with these great waters, it's still very important to take the right safety precautions and wear protective gear if you plan on rafting or kayaking.
Weather conditions after the final snowfalls in March and April will help better predict water levels for the summer.
