GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Laura Bush, Grace Kelly, Dorothy Hamill, and Sally Ride all have one thing in common... they were all Girl Scouts.

It's not all about the cookies though, Girl Scouts of Colorado aims to empower girls to help teach important life values through service and community outreach.

"It's definitely worth the experience if you stay with it and you just learn so much from it that it's so great just to stay with it," says Annamarie Pritt, who has been a Girl Scout for 12 years.

Tonight, she and several other Grand Valley Girl Scouts received either a bronze, silver or gold award.

Gold awards are equivalent of the Eagle Scout honor for Boy Scouts; and the only one handed out at tonight's ceremony, went to Pritt.

"It's just a great honor and I love Girl Scouts and I'm going to continue with it," she says. "Everybody and every girl should be a girl scout because it's just so great."
