PALISADE, Colo. Chevron employees took a break from the workday to help get food to the hungry in the community.
More than 20 volunteers from Chevron sorted food, packed boxes and assisted in getting food orders out to organizations in need of help from Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies.
It was the fourth year the business has decided pitch in at a time when the food bank gets busy for the holidays.
"We do this about this time of the year to try to make sure people going through the holidays have what they need," said Troy Waldner, a Chevron employee who volunteered Friday morning.
Chevron also donated $10,000 to the food bank.
One dollar can provide four meals, so Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies workers said the money will go a long way.
