GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. For almost three months now, 5th grader Jyden Mcdonald has been in fear of going to school because of a persistent bullying probelm.
When school administrators at Dos Rios Elementary were approached about the problem, they promised jyden's mother it would be taken care of, but even after the police report was filed, nothing changed.
"He's in counseling over it. it's just, at home his attitude is completely changed. he's not his normal self anymore," says Danielle Richardson, Jyden's mother.
Richardson says she is now just waiting for her son to enter middle school next year so he will no longer have to deal with this issue.
Experts say that some tell tale signs that a child is being bullied include depression, poor academic performance, and withdrawal from normal social interactions.
