One local boy is hoping to keep kids warm this winter.
8 year-old Landon Grossnickle was driving with his family on North Avenue one day, and saw the local homeless shelter.
There was a family walking by with children who were not wearing any coats.
Landon told his parents that he wanted to give his coats away to the children who didn't have them to help keep them warm.
Now he's started a coat drive for kids and he's asking for your help in reaching his goal.
He wants to collect one hundred coats before November 16th.
"I didn't want the kids freezing outside," Landon explained. "...I want to keep them warm. I don't want them freezing to death."
Landon is hoping to drop off the coats to those in need before Thanksgiving.
There are drop off locations at the New Horizons Four Square Church, the New Life Church, Peak Performance Chiropractic, Pomona Elementary, and West Middle School.
