LAKEWOOD, Colo. -

Authorities have released the name of a woman who was fatally shot when she tried to drive away from a traffic stop with a police officer's arm trapped inside the vehicle.

Police say 39-year-old Donna Lynn Martinez was driving a stolen car when she was pulled over in Lakewood shortly after midnight Thursday. Another officer arrived as backup, and one approached the driver as the other approached a front-seat passenger.

Police say the passenger became combative and an officer shot him with a stun gun. Meanwhile, police say Martinez was shot as she tried to drive away, dragging the officer several feet.

She died at a hospital, and the passenger was arrested on a parole violation.

The Denver Post (http://bit.ly/RlEQKd ) reports authorities have not identified the officer involved in the shooting.
