After four years of waiting, residents at The Oaks assisted living facility now have wi-fi.
Residents and families requested access several years ago but the cost was too high.
The wi-fi has been installed in public areas and resident rooms so laptops and mobile devices can access it anywhere.
The Oaks director, Jason Davis, says the installation will help residents stay in touch with friends and family who may not live close by.
He says the next goal is to purchase computers for those residents who may not have one.
"My goal is to get some laptops in our facility for residents that don't have one," Davis explained. "They would be able to check one out at the office and take it to their room and be able to access the internet in a private setting."
Currently residents can use one computer in the common area.
The Oaks is a non-profit organization that relies on donations.
