HOMETOWN: Sterling Heights, MI
EDUCATION: Bachelors of Science in Meteorology with minors in Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and Geographic Information Science from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI
EXPERIENCE: During my years in college, I was fortunate enough to have several internships. I spent the summer of 2010 as a weather intern for WJRT, the ABC affiliate in Flint, Michigan. The next summer, I interned with the weather team at WDIV, the NBC affiliate in Detroit, Michigan. While in school, I was the weather anchor for MHTV News Central 34. After graduating in May of 2012 from Central Michigan University, I accepted my first job as a meteorologist here at KJCT News 8 in Grand Junction.
INTERESTS: I obviously love the weather, but almost anything science related catches my interest. I like being outdoors and hiking, so Grand Junction was a great place to move to. Being born and raised in Hockeytown, it’s impossible not to love the Red Wings. I’m also a fan of the Lions and Tigers. Even though the Lions can be a bit unpredictable at times, I still try to watch every week. I love spending time with family and friends. I’m really excited to be joining the First Warn 8 Weather Team and the entire KJCT News Team. I look forward to all of the new experiences that Grand Junction and western Colorado have to offer.
