GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

City workers are busy trying to restore water service to residents around 19th and Elm Street in Grand Junction.

A water main broke around 3:30 p.m. causing police to close off the area.

The line broke off of 19th Street, about a half block north of Elm Street.

Elm Street is currently closed because of the gushing water.

City workers who arrived on scene said the road could be closed anywhere between two and nine hours.
