Hundreds of people showed up Saturday morning, sporting their running shoes, for the second annual Rollin' on the River 5k at Grand Junction’s botanical gardens.
Participants walked, ran, and even rolled along the river front trail.
It’s all to benefit Mesa Developmental Services, an organization providing programs for children with developmental delays and disabilities.
Organizers and participants say events like these allow the organization to keep serving our community.
There’s no word yet on how much money the event has raised for MDS.
Organizers say they hope to do better than last year, which means the event will need to bring in over $12 thousand.
All that money will stay on the Western Slope.
