Unique local gifts for a good cause
As we just saw, black Friday and small business Saturday were both a huge success.
This weekend traditionally marks the beginning of holiday shopping season.
However; this year, some people are choosing to purchase gifts that benefit others.
For Christmas, the Arnoldy family is buying some unique and beautiful gifts locally and for a good cause.
Light Gives Heat is a non-profit organization that partners with artists to create handmade products, creating a steady income for the needy in Uganda, Africa.
“It feels really good to buy local and support a non-profit that works with Africa, and you just feel good about it all the way around, and it's a really unique gift," said Eric Arnoldy.
The organization sells scarves, jewelry and other items that are homemade; some are even created from recycled paper.
If you'd like to check out any of their unique gifts that support a great cause, you can visit their website at "light gives heat dot org" or stop by their shop at 2507 Weslo Ave.
