Authorities say a boy suffered severe injuries when he was hit by a BNSF freight train in Monument.
Sgt. Joe Roybal with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office tells The Gazette (http://bit.ly/Ob4ugV ) the boy was found near the tracks near Mitchell Road and Front Street at about 1 a.m. Saturday and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The sheriff's office declined to release the boy's name, age or any other details because the investigation is ongoing.
