You may think the toys that stock the stores throughout the U.S are safe.
Unfortunately that's not the case, according to a study done by the Colorado public interest research group, toxic toys have been discovered.
The study found toys with lead and others that cause choking hazards, along with loud toys that threaten children's hearing.
Magnet toys, bowling games, and play guitars are all examples of items that may pose a threat to children.
“In the past year the commission has recalled over eighty six thousand five hundred toys in children’s products because of choking hazards, and that's the leading cause of toy recalls.”
One simple way to see if the toys around your house are safe is the small ball test.
If a ball can fit through a hole of 1.75 inches, then it may be a choking hazard.
If you want to try the test at home, that's about the diameter of an empty toilet paper roll.
