Around 8:15 a.m. Monday, a three vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of 31 1/2 Road and D Road.

According to Grand Junction police, a driver in a Toyota Camry was stopped on D Road at the intersection, waiting to make a left turn onto 31 1/2 Road.

A Toyota pick up was parked behind the Camry when a third driver in a Chevy SUV rear-ended the pick up truck, pushing it into the Camry.

One person in the Toyota pick up was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries.

Grand Junction police and the Clifton Fire Department were called to the wreck.

Traffic was diverted around the accident while emergency crews cleaned the scene.

Police say the driver of the Chevy SUV apparently got distracted by one of the passengers in her car when she rear-ended the pick up.

She was ticketed for careless driving.
