Thieves steal cash meant for high-schooler
Enterprise Liquors targeted
Just before 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, KJCT began hearing reports of an unknown amount of cash stolen from Enterprise Liquors at 2923 North Avenue in Grand Junction.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, a large jar with donations for a local high school student trying to study abroad was stolen from the counter.
The store clerk and another witness from the parking lot followed the suspects vehicle for a short distance before turning around and returning to the store.
The suspects' van is described as an older model Chevy. It's white in color and full-sized. The van has numerous windows and a luggage rack on the roof.
The driver was said to be a tall white man in his 40's or 50's with a beard. The suspect who entered the store is described as a Hispanic male in his 20's with darker skin. He has hair over his ears and was wearing a gray hoodie or sweatshirt.
