The Garfield County Sheriff's Office and CBI fire investigators issued a summons to a 13-year-old boy for starting an apartment fire in Parachute on Monday.

The fire was in the 'D' building of the Willow Ridge Apartments, located at 854 Battlement Parkway.

Officials haven't released how the juvenile managed to cause the fire, but the D.A.'s office and Garfield County Youthzone helped determine the boy's charges in the case.

Both the boy and his mother were cooperative during the investigation, according to police.

Authorities aren't releasing anymore information at this time.
