It's been a year since the Grand Mesa Chorus of the Sweet Adelines has performed, and members are ready to show off new songs and costumes for their annual show.
According to Bette Lowenstein, whose been with Sweet Adelines International for 30 years, "Sequins on Parade, Coming to a Town Near You", is a fun and entertaining show about a troupe of female singers traveling the U.S. via bus.
It tells the, "Adventures and mis-adventures of the Grand Mesa Chorus as they go on a musical road trip across the country," said Lowenstein.
The show takes place on Saturday at C.M.U.'s Robinson Theatre. One performance begins at 2:00 p.m. and the other is set for 7:00 p.m.
According to Lowenstein, special guests include a children's chorus from Orchard Avenue Elementary and the Bookcliff Barbershop Chorus.
She also said there will be some very talented "civilians" to round out the program.
"We have a man named Ken Dravis, who sings John Denver songs, he does a beautiful job. Interestingly enough he actually worked for and with John Denver for several years," said Lowenstein.
