The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is releasing more information regarding Wednesday night's shooting in Clifton that sent a man and a woman to the hospital.
According to sheriff's deputies, a suicidal man shot himself in the chest and the bullet went through his back, striking a woman who was inside the home.
Police had responded to the home on Delicious Drive around 6:00 p.m.
Authorities said Michael Sexton was wounded in the lung while attempting to kill himself. A police report states Crystal Mannon was struck by the errant round.
No charges have been filed and the relationship between Sexton and Mannon is unclear.
Their conditions are unknown at this time as well.
