A local elementary school is celebrating its student's today, holding a special rally and getting kids fired up about learning.

It’s encouraging them to always give their best effort.

Respect, on task, always safe, and being responsible is the idea behind ROAR, a program Lincoln Orchard Mesa Elementary uses to motivate the kids.

The school brought in members of the CMU woman's basketball team to send a message about how important it is to work hard in school and be focused.

Pricipal Meri Nofzinger says, “When we reward those things we are just saying nice job, keep it up, and continue that behavior.”

The school holds these types of assemblies every quarter.

Staff says since they've starting using the ROAR program, they've seen improvement in overall learning.
