Staying active in cold weather
There’s an entire population of them in the Grand Valley, outdoor enthusiasts who choose to live here because of all the recreation opportunities.
While there's plenty of stuff to do in the snow, many activities revolve around warmer weather.
But despite the cold, people are finding ways to stay active.
Here’s just one example. This is the time of year that the Grand Junction Climbing Center is the busiest.
“You can rock climb outside in the winter time but your finger tips get a little cold,” Owner Randal Champman said. “You can come in the gym, train, and not have to worry about the elements.”
This January is on its way to being the coldest in Grand Junction’s history.
While many are looking forward to warmer days, the climbing center is enjoying the extra business.
