Following a judge's order, Colorado health officials say they will hold an adjudicatory public hearing on a license application for the proposed Pinon Ridge uranium mill.

They said Wednesday that details are being decided, but they intend to hold the hearing before a court-imposed Sept. 18 deadline.

A unit of the health department had approved the license for Energy Fuels for its proposed mill after a public meeting was held in 2010. Following a complaint from environmentalists, a Denver judge said the state needed to hold a formal administrative hearing and invalidated the license. The judge upheld other aspects of the license approval.

People adversely affected by the proposed mill can seek "party status" for the new hearing, allowing them to comment and cross-examine speakers.
