GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

Christmas is coming early for one Grand Junction family.

8 weeks ago their son and brother, Petty Officer 1st Class Joshua Gregg was supposed to come home, but he was sent back to Libya for an additional 8 weeks.

Monday he was reunited with his family.

Gregg serves in a special ops capacity and was on the USS McFaul.
He was part of an operation where his crew captured 10 suspected pirates and rescued 8 crew members.

His sister Brandi says they are cramming the holidays into the short time they get to spend with him.

"We're having Thanksgiving tonight and Christmas the other 6 days," she explained.

Gregg, meanwhile, is looking forward to all the family time, saying,  "From what I understood, mom made a Thanksgiving dinner for me so that's even better.  I'm really hungry and I can't wait for her cooking."

Gregg has signed on for another 5 years and said he wasn't done yet and that he loves what he does.
